PDP Services

Steph Cutler and Dave Rees run in-person and on-line training and coaching to support disabled colleagues and create disability inclusive workplaces.

PDP Experience

This is our premium programme. It has a twenty year track record of making a huge difference to disabled colleagues in a variety of organisations including Lloyds Banking Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, Accenture and Business Disability Forum members (open course).

Up to 12 disabled colleagues spend three days together exploring relevant issues and learning practical applications to take control of their lives and plan their careers. We equip staff with alternative perspectives and resources to better manage practicalities and perceptions. Outcomes for your disabled colleagues include:

  • Greater awareness of what disables you in the workplace.
  • Increased understanding of legislation and policy relevant to you as a disabled colleague.
  • Improved confidence to self-advocate in the workplace
  • Better able to manage disability related issues.
  • Increased self-esteem in relation to living with an impairment or long-term health condition.
  • Better informed of available support.
  • Maximize productivity and effectiveness.
  • Career progression.
  • Improved networks.

“I was on the PDP course at the end of August and just wanted to say thank you again. Since the course, I’ve been in a good enough place that my therapist has released me “back into the wild” so taking a break from therapy. The suggestions from the course have been hugely helpful in managing my anxiety/depression and improving relationships slowly but surely.

And best of all, I’m 2 weeks into a new secondment role that was essentially a double promotion jumping 2 pay grades. I interviewed for it about 6 weeks after the course so looks like I learned something. This was the 5th interview I had been on this year and finally got the job.”

PDP On-line

PDP On-line achieves the key outcomes our long-standing PDP Experience achieves.   It equips participants with tools to present themselves and their impairment or health condition in a way that creates a positive impact. We cover how to manage perceptions and maximize effectiveness at work.

  • Better informed of available support

“Now I can see how I want to come across with my disability/long term health condition. No more will I limit myself and I will change the language I use. I can now approach my job search with new confidence and can draw on the new learned skills from the course.”

“I want to say a wholehearted thank you to Steph and Dave. I am amazed how these few hours have changed my outlook on the future and have given me hope and the skills to navigate the workplace and the new ways of working a lot better. It was fantastic to get such good prompters how I could sell my disability in a positive light in an interview scenario. There were lots of eye openers during the sessions. I am confident that I am still able to make an impact and in time can have the career I want.”

PDP Line managing disabled colleagues

We support line managers to understand their role in managing and supporting the performance of their disabled colleagues. We know that line managers are often unsure of their role and responsibilities and this can lead to issues for organisations and disabled colleagues.

Delegates leave with:

  • Greater awareness of what disables colleagues in the workplace and your role in reducing barriers.
  • Wider knowledge of the range of workplace adjustments and how to implement them.
  • Increased understanding of legislation and policy relevant to line managing a disabled colleague.
  • Improved confidence to have disability related conversations.
  • Better equipped to enable disabled colleagues to be their best in the workplace.
