Motivational Work Preparation Training for Job Seekers

We all know that job seeking can be a job in itself, and a thankless one at that! Workshop participants regularly comment how good it is to share time with other people in the same boat as them. Feeling they are not alone in their plight to find work and being able to talk about their specific issues is often cited very positively.

I am often told that participants return to their employment advisors with a renewed enthusiasm for job searching.

This workshop is motivational in tone and practical in content. My lived experience enables me to be sensitive, but also to challenge. Even the most reluctant or under-confident job seeker is motivated to do more towards seeking work.

Participants gain the tools and confidence to prepare and present themselves positively throughout the recruitment process. Workshop content includes:

  • Creating a great first impression
  • Effective communication
  • Disclosing a disability (if relevant)
  • Identifying transferable skills
  • Positive answers to interview questions

On hearing different perspectives from myself and the group, participants tend to review their own personal issues and put them more clearly into context.

This workshop is usually delivered over a day but is sometimes extended to three.

Get in touch to find out more about how my workshop can benefit the job seekers you work with.

In addition, I regularly deliver my inspirational speech at events. Disabled and non-disabled audiences tell me they find my story encouraging and inspirational.

My blog is regularly up-dated with job seeking advice and information.  Additionally, there are a number of job seeking articles within this site.
