Speaking
I am regularly requested to speak at a wide range of events. Jobseekers, HR personnel, business people, aspiring business owners and students tell me they are motivated by my ‘anything is possible’ approach.
My inspirational speech is a personal account of my story from fashion designer, through sight loss, to successful entrepreneur. I share my experience of seeking work as a disabled applicant and how I turned the lemons in my life into lemonade.
I often adapt my keynote speech to maximise the relevance for different audiences and events. For example:
- I focus on starting and growing a business and share my tips and experiences if your event is self-employment related.
- I share good practice and my personal and professional experiences of disability and employment if your event is about recruitment.
- For audiences entering the big, wide world or having acquired a disability I share how it is possible to make your goals a reality and take positive steps. The focus is to inspire your audience to believe in their abilities and future.

“Steph has moved from one successful career to another. Her speech ‘Making Lemonade’ will have you laughing, learning, crying and enjoying the journey with her. There are poignant messages and I would highly recommend this talk to any organisation seeking an inspirational speaker”.

“Hearing Steph speak is truly inspirational. She is living proof of the saying, ‘there’s no such word as can’t’. I have every possible respect for her talents as a speaker and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again for events in the future.”
